Stretch and Strengthen for your health ages 50 and beyondFee: $73.00 ( 7 weeks)Why is stretching so important? Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy. We need flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without regular stretching muscles shorten and become tight. This puts you at risk for joint pain, strains and muscle damage. Healthy muscles also help a person with balance problems to avoid falls. This 75 minute class can improve your life. Class involves a mixed blend of movements designed to create strength and flexibility in the body. Yoga positions are used to focus on alignment to balance the muscles which allows you to become stronger and increase your range of motion. Bring a mat and your water and join us for a fun-filled, healthy aging class. No Class May 14. Instructor: Julie MeyerRestorative YogaFee: $63.00 (6 weeks)This stretching class is less strenuous than the Tuesday Stretch Class but still has the same great benefits. Poses are completely supported with bolsters, blankets, and blocks to support your body. This class is about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. The muscles are allowed to relax deeply. Not sure about yoga? Restorative yoga is a different experience from contemporary yoga. Come give it a try. Call the Community Education Office to receive a $20.00 discount when you sign up for both Tuesday and Thursday classes. (Class 120 with 120 A) 810-225-3950
